The injustice dished out by Telkom

The background of my case dates back to 15 august 2017, Case number ********** 4 and 16 November 2017 case no: ********** 9. i once went to a telkom shop in mafikeng to take out a contract but upon taking the device i had a problem with reception issues in the area as the salesperson told me that as telkom you do not have towers in the area. As such i requested for the contract to be cancelled on the spot. The salesperson indicated that the contract could only be cancelled after 72 hours but she would contact me .Yes indeed she called me but could not reach me when i called back, i was told she was in a meeting. When i tried without reaching her, i then went to the shop only to find out that the shop has relocated in mafikeng. I was under the impression that the contract was cancelled but i was shocked when i received a notification in august that there was a debit from telkom for the amount of R700 + which i went to reverse at the bank. I then called in to inquire about it but after being taking from pillar to post, i then requested to speak to the manager. I was transferred to the guy by the name of Mr Bongani Nkuna ( Gauteng region) who indicated that he is the manager. After relating my complaint to him, he then assured me that the case would be resolved as soon as possible by cancelling the contract.Again i was under the impression that the matter has been resolved but to my surprise, there was a debit from telkom on the 16 -11-2017 for the amount of R1400+ which i had to reverse again. I called in only to find out that on your system the case has been closed but as the complainant i had no clue of what was happening. i then receive another notification of a debit from Telkom of an amount of R1062.63 on the 20 -11-2017 which i also called in to inquire. it was then that i was advised by a consultant to send in a cancellation form.As i have indicated that i did not have the details required by the form, the consultant the decided to assist me with such details telephonically from her system. That is how i was able to complete the form.in summary, i had requested for the contract to be cancelled the very sane day it was approved. I did not take the device from the shop.

I have requested Telkom to cancel this contract and stop debiting from my account but to-date they are still debiting from my acc (R2000) recently This reflect negatively on my credit profile and it is doing so unnecessarily. Hope this time the matter will be put to rest for good.

I thank you Pheagane Modipane
