The fun with Telkom just never stops
On Sunday morning our Telkom business landline died - kind of a big deal for a restaurant. (It's actually our last remaining Telkom fixed line used across businesses, and I can now kick myself for not having it ported to another provider already).
I logged the fault online, got a reference number by SMS - but didn't really expect to get an answer before Monday morning. After not hearing anything by Monday late afternoon, I called in to Telkom Business faults - and am then told that the fault has not been assigned to anyone yet, but then the operator escalated it.
On Tuesday - (having still not had any feedback from Telkom) - the fault symptoms change. We can now make outbound calls, but inbound calls just crash, without even being transferred by the Telkom Call Answer service which at least helped us maintain some form of client contact.
I called business faults again - after the operator wanted to just put me off again to wait for the unlikely callback, I asked to speak to a supervisor - and was then promptly put through to Sales!. I called again, this time speaking to a slightly more helpful operator who at least tried to get hold of the technician working on the case .. but I've yet had no feedback. 3 days of operating without a business line, and not a peep from Telkom as to why.
I've put in a request to port the number to another provider - hopefully Telkom wouldn't mess that up as well so that we can at least start getting calls again. I honestly don't understand how they can still be in business.
