TERRIBLE Telkom! Am I expected to pay till I die?

I know that I am not the only person who has been a victim of Telkom's unreliable service, and *********, and immoral treatment of their clients.

This is my second incident with Telkom, the first brought my wife and I (on separate occasions), to break down in the Cape Gate Telkom store being told for the umpteenth that we need to call the call-centre, then to be told to go in store.

I submitted my cancellation form via email, as it says is possible by the Telkom website, on the 22nd of May 2017. Today marks 49 days since I submitted, and I have received no replies, beside the automatic response. As the cancellation request document states, in section 5, I have given over 20 business days written notice, yet still no response.

I am not an unreasonable person, I follow the rules, and guidelines like everybody else to keep this capitalistic cog we call life turning. But if you offer a service, and I purchase that service, following all the rules declared by the provider of said service. Then I expect said service provider to adhere to the exact same rules!

I have phoned in on several occasions to find out the process of my cancellation, and this is where it becomes ridiculous. The cancellation department does not have telephones, and can only be contacted via email. I have been told this by several Telkom consultants. Once again, nobody at this hell hole is willing to accept responsibility and acknowledge that I have been patient and understanding but now it has gone too far.

Am I expected to keep paying for a service I am not receiving for the rest of my life? We all know that if I just refuse to pay then of course the Credit Bureau gets involved and it's my credit record that gets a nice new black mark.

This is ridiculous that it has to come to me posting about a horrible experience in order for me to try and get some contact from an actual human being at Telkom.
