Terrible service with landline order

I have been struggling for almost 6 weeks now to get a landline installed by Telkom. On Dec 1st I app**** online, the order was confirmed by them the same afternoon with a telephone call, but when I inquired again a month later, they had no orders on their system. I app**** again, by telephone this time. I was given a reference number and asked to make a R700 deposit, which I did the same day (January 2nd 2018). Since then, each inquiry to the progress, caused frustration: after holding on for ages (on their order inquiry line10213), I have to hear that they cannot find the order number (but eventually they do find it somehow), they don't see the proof of payment (which they also somehow find, eventually). After a week (08/01/2018) we reached a point where an appointment was made for a technician to come out for the installation. The appointment was for 10/01/2018 - the technician would call an hour before he could come out. Problem solved at last, I thought! But what happened? No-one called on the 10th! I inquired again on 11th: same story: no order found (initially), no payment found (initially), and then, eventually, the appointment not kept was "escalated" - whatever that means - and I would receive an email and SMS about the new urgent appointment (which I have not received!) and the supervisor would call me back (which never happened). I am at the end of my patience! Perhaps LTE is the answer for communication and internet, rather than a landline and ADSL!

Thank you, Launa. The line was installed, eventually, albeit by a very rude-sounding technician. Once the line was installed, I app**** through Axxess for a 4 MBps ADSL line. A much more approachable Siswe came out for the DSL line about 10 days later on 30/01/17. However, the line still has not been signed off and handed over to Axxess, which apparently has to happen before we can use the service.
