Terrible Service (Both staff and network)

My phone was pickpocketed. So yesterday at 12:30 I went to the telkom store in the JHB cbd. The sim swop was done and I was told to wait 30 to 45 minutes before switching on my device. Almost an hour later my sim was still not registered on the network. I called a call centre, (10210 number as per the website), the lady tried assisting me with phone settings, my sim still not registered on the network. She advised that I should try after 18:00 and that it could take up to 24 hours(The lady at the telkom store said 30 to 45 mins). I tried after 18:00 still nothing then I tried again after 24 hours which was today, still not registered on the network. I called the 10210 call center and spoke to a guy by the name of Thulani. He did the same thing that the lady did yesterday and then advised my sim card was faulty and I would need to go back to the store for a new sim card. I was livid at this point I have a 10 month old son who is with a new nanny and she is unable to contact me if she needs to! My collegue advised her mom works at telkom and she would ask if she could assist. Her mum advised me to call a different number 081 180, if you try to google telkoms number it is a mission to find it. Then I called the number, spoke to a lady who then advised a communication had been sent out that the sim swop system is not working and I would have to wait for anything from 2 to 72 hours after logging a call. What is rather confusing is how everyone tells me something different. What the hell should I do? Who is lying and who is not? I am now fed up with telkom. When I am home I can"t use my mobile data because there is no signal. I almost always have issues calling out as the network sucks! This is it now.

Pathetic service
