Terrible first impression

After having a Cell C / MTN contract for years I decided to sign up for Telkom's black friday Huawei p10 lite contract at R199 a month. 1) The first time I submitted the online form it gave me a time out error after I had spent about 10 minutes filling it all in. I then had to start again. Not a big deal but annoying. 2) I didn't hear anything back from them so I visited a telkom shop. Our details weren't on their system for some reason so the only thing the shop could do was phone the call center where they were placed in the queue like everyone else. The store was placed on hold for such a long time that they eventually had no choice but to give us the number and send us on our way. 3) getting home we found two emails from them. The first one said that they couldn't get hold of me, despite the fact that they had our landline number and cell number, and we didn't have a missed call or voicemail on either of those. The second email from them said that our application had been declined during the initial vetting stage. They didn't give a reason or a contact number. I have been at the same company for 20 years as a financial manager. I have no debt, and a flawless credit record. 4) Today we phoned the help center to see if we could sort it out and eventually put down the phone after being placed on hold for at least 15 minutes. If this is the kind of service you have to put up with to sign up with Telkom, I can only imagine how terrible it will be if you happen to run into a problem after they already have your money.
