Terrbile service and communication wrt faults and accounts
Towards the end of August 2018, I experienced problems with my landline telephone. At that point in time I thought it could be caused by the inclement weather (we experienced some heavy rains during that period). When this problem continued into the 1st week of September 2018, I contacted Telkom informing them of the problem (FAULT ***). The consultant informed that because of cable theft, they will send me a wireless device within 3-4 weeks.
After waiting for 5 weeks and not receiving the wireless device, I visited the Telkom outlet at Overport City Durban. Here I was informed that my wireless device with my landline number was incorrectly delivered to another person. Attached you will find a copy of the printout given to me.
This other person was using this device until 24 January 2019. Please be mindful of the fact that I while I did not get to use of the device, the telephone bills were being sent to me.
On 25 January 2019, I visited the Telkom outlet again informing them of my situation regarding no device but mounting bills. I was then given a sim card to use in my cellphone (***). I was able to use my cellphone like a fixed line phone until 05/03/2019 when my phone was blocked for not paying the bills.
The following calls were made to Telkom to resolve the dispute: 1. Spoke to Abraham on 25/01/2019 (***) 2. Spoke to Sheron on 18/02/2019 (Same ref number) 3. Spoke to Athi on 08/03/2019 (Ref ***) 4. Spoke to Siviwuee on 18/03/2019 (Ref ***1)
On 24/04/2019, I visited the Telkom outlet again. After explaining my problem with the consultant (viz. suspension of my telephone and mounting bills due to incorrect delivery of the wireless device and note that I am a pensioner and I had a callmore package in which the line rental plus calls made used to be +- R300 per month). I further explained that I had use of the phone from only 25/01/2019 till my service was suspended. According to my calculation my telephone bill should not exceed R900. I was advised by the consultant to pay the R900 immediately and the suspension would be lifted. I paid the R900 on 24/04/2019 but my service has not been restored.
Please note that I have as yet not received the wireless device and as at 1 June 2019 my phone has been completely blocked. (No incoming or outgoing calls)
