Telkom's unfortunate Dilemma

I wish to reiterate how disappointment and disillusioned I personally have with Telkom LTEm as a service provider. I am referring specifically to the the inconsistent LTE speed that they offer their clients and the trivial excuses they give for the explanations thereof. I believe the reasons for this are the following. 1) Telkom"s tele-staff are generally polite and helpful, however they really don't have a solid understanding of the technical problems that Telkom are experiencing. 2) There is very little interaction or cross pollination from technical and help desk staff of Telkom. 3) Customers are not stupid and have access to the internet and a lot of them have done their background checks and homework. 4) Telkom presently, do not have the technical infrastructure or bandwidth to support and maintain LTE customers and their expectations. 5) It is common practice, but not common knowledge in this industry for the service providers to change the pointing of their towers in certain areas to promote financial gain in new areas or settlements. 6) Sadly this impacts directly on existing clients or businesses in that area. In the event of clients not having a ''directional or omni aerial'' to counter this, they are on a hiding to nowhere. 7) I am almost certain, that Telkom have not upgraded all their exchanges from analog to digital and I refer specifically to the ports in the exchange. What this means in layman terms, should you make a call from the west or east rand to Johannesburg central your call may go through two or three exchanges...Digital ...Analog...speeds vary (Speed wise you are governed by the infrastructure used) 8) People are also not aware, that Telkom own most of the rights for the telekom infrastructure in South Africa, and they are not overly accommodating when it comes to allowing some of the other service providers using / paying for their infrastructure. (In short, this unfortunately pushes cost of services up and impacts on quality and level of services provided to the general public. 9) To sum up there are a lot of good people in Telkom, however sadly, there are also lot of people specifically on the technical side, who are not trained to the correct standards. This creates a huge negative impact and will definitely hurt them in the short and long term.

In my opinion, providing a service that is 'Efficient, Transparent and Open to Constructive Criticism'', only then will you earn the people of South Africa's Respect....Trust....and Loyalty....Buy-in

Tragically....Try and get an email address from Telkom, to submit a complaint...it is like Sailing a Boat in the Atlantic Ocean without a ''Rudder or Sail'.
