Telkoms Poor Service

<p>I am horrified by the service, lack of service we have received from telkom. my husband and I phoned for a landline in January this year . we only got feedback mid February that a technician will come out on the 3rd of March to install a new line. so we waited even though it was a ridiculous waiting period. on Friday the 3rd March a technician pitched , he walked around our property for a few minutes , then said he had to go next door to our neighbours yard to reach the telkom line/poll. after being there for a few minutes he came back and told us the line connecting from the poll to our house was damaged by lightening and that he can't do anything, he has to log it with telkom and then they will send another technician out. (that I don't understand, it was his job to fix and install a line no matter what) . anyway he left , on Sunday the 5th of March another telkom technician pitched , I thought wow that was fast ! but turns out the technician that came on Friday never logged anything with telkom , so the technician that came on Sunday said he can see its been damaged by lightening and that he also has to report it to telkom and that they will send another technician out by Wednesday that week to fix and install a new line. on Monday my husband and I decided to follow up , we phoned telkom and waited 2hrs on the line and no one answered , so we gave up and decided to call on Wednesday of we hadn't heard anything. Wednesday came, we didn't hear anything , so we called telkom again, the lady on the phone told us the technician on Sunday logged that the he couldn't finish the job and that's all that was reported. so we told her that we had two technicians do a site visit and that they both said the line from the poll to the house is damaged by lightening , could they please just sort this out. she told us she booked us for a technician appointment on Friday 10th March, we waited all day and NOBODY pitched . we are both fuming ! this is ********** service. I cannot believe that there is not alternative to telkom. telkom treats their customers like **** and just tell you stories . I'm so annoyed . </p>
