Telkom's LIES

I was on an ADSL line for a few years with Telkom and it was stable. I then got a call from Telkom last year stating that they need to move me to LTE as they are removing copper. I asked the person if I will have to sign on a new contract as I was on a month to month and he advised I will still be on a month to month. Ever since going on Telkom's **** LTE network it has been horrible from day one. I called today to cancel and the lady says that I am on a 24 month contract although I didnt sign any contract. She said if I cancel then there would be penalties and advised that she and everyone else from Telkom cannot give me the penalty amount as they do not know.

Please can someone from Telkom explain why I am on a new contract even though I did not sign one and can someone advise on this so called penalty amount
