TELKOM/OPENSERVE IN A STATE OF DISREPAIR

On 7th September we had a lightning strike which broke open the "connection box" for our street (REF 266ARK070918, escalation ref ********** , Pta ref ********** 70918, Pta ref 18/09/ ********** ) ). After much begging, pleading, threatening by all in the street it seems, we were reconnected almost exactly 7 days later to the hour by a helpful openserve technician. Okay so we had phone lines again but the box was still broken open with wires exposed. Despite numerous calls to Pta ( ********** 473) and emails to ********** the box has still not been replaced. I keep getting told "a new box has to be fetched from Springs" but no-one collects the box or fixes our exposed wiring. Last night we had our first heavy rain (onto the open wiring) and by the grace of god to-day we still have a phone connection. There is no interest in repairing infrastructure and 10210 is just as useless as all they can do is "send the enquiry to openserve". There are a number of self-employed people on this street, and we continue being billed for services not provided. What a shambolic disappointment these people are.

Reviewer Update
It's been over a year now and telkom have made no effort whatsoever to repair/replace the SCREENING WIRE which protects the fixed line from lightning strikes. The trees and brush growth has been cut back substantially in the mean time and as the rain (AND LIGHTNING) season approaches we are once again at the mercy of, and unprotected from lightning.
