Telkom: Worst Customer Service Ever

I am very dissatisfied with the “service” I have been receiving from Telkom.

When I took out my contract in May at the Centurion branch, the consultant, Nkele, promised me that I will be getting an extra 1GB of data every month of my contract. She told me that this was a promotional offer if I sign up before the end of May. I took her up on the offer and signed the new contract. During the first month, I received the 2GB of data as was promised, but then month 2 (August) came. I did not receive my extra GB of data, and contacted Telkom Customer Service twice. I was told that I will not be getting the extra GB of data, as that was only a once-off. I complained on the Telkom Facebook page, and after following up a few times, I was eventually phoned back by Nkele. She told me that there was a system error and that I will be receiving the extra 1GB of data for the remainder of my 24 month contract. I have been trying to phone back the Centurion branch to speak to Nkele, but no one ever answers. I went to the store, and there was not even an assistant manager, or a manager on duty. I got the email address of the assistant manager, Fifi, and on 24 August, I sent her an email explaining the situation. I never received a response. I had to go back to the store to ask for the manager’s contact details. I phoned the manager, Yogen, on Monday, 5 September and explained the situation to her. She told me to forward her the email, and I did. I phoned her back on Tuesday, 12 September, and she ignored both my calls. Eventually, I sent her a Whatsapp message. This message was read, but also ignored. I sent her another message to explain that if I do not get any assistance, I will be taking the matter to Hello Peter and Die Beeld: Tot u diens. She then blocked me from Whatsapp.

During this time, I was also sent an SMS by Telkom to ask which date my debit orders should be submitted. I CLEARLY told them that they should be submitted the last day of the month, but in August, the debit order went off on the 25th. I DID NOT give them permission to do this. I only get paid on the 25th of each month. If I did not happen to have funds in my account available, the debit order would have been rejected and I would have been charged R115 by the bank.

I have been asking for assistance SO many times on the Facebook page, and every time I am told that the matter has been escalated and that I will be contacted. Until this day, no one has contacted me. I was so happy with Telkom that I advised my family to take up contracts with them. Now I could not regret it more than I do today. I will NEVER advise anyone to ever take up a contract with Telkom.
