Telkom Worst Customer Experience
The afternoon of December 15th our house WiFi and landline just stopped working. The next day I called in Telkom told me I’m the first to report this problem a technician will be sent out. Call again the Thursday they no working public holiday, I called again the Friday to escalate and I was told it was now part of a bulk problem and cable maintenance. Tried calling again that weekend nothing called twice every-time it gets to the operator the phone goes quiet. Monday morning I call again and I ask for a solution I’m working from home and between me and my sister we had already spent over R500 on data - if you use telkom network you would know that their data does not last long at all!!!! On the phone I was advised to go to a Telekom store give them my escalation reference number and they will be able to give me a sim with data - I specifically asked if I could go as the daughter of the account holder and they said yes all you need is the escalation reference number. At the Telkom in the Grove mall I explain my situation to the lady at the door and she says they can’t help me the account holder needs to be present, I tell her that I asked about this and I was told they could help me she gets somewhat irritated with me, very rude at this point and tells me no they can’t help I quote “ the people online like to give wrong information and if they think they can do it they should come do it” like *** I couldn’t believe, it is as if they not working for the same company. So in the mall I call Telkom again I speak to another guy - sorry didn’t think to take names, he was very helpful and I go back to the shop to let the 2 colleagues speak to each other long story short they can’t help unless I am given authorisation over the account then they can assist. My mum calls as per instructions given and I go back to the store, mind you I’m 3 hours in trying to solve this problem. When I get back to the store I wait another 30min to be assisted I have everything they need my ID, Proof of residence everything to come find once again they telling me people online don’t know how things work and they can’t help me now the problem is also we have the old DSL now I’m being asked if we have fibre at this point I say to the lady assisting me I just want internet connection I saw an advert on TV about 80g day and 80g night for R200 can I please purchase that cause I need something that’s long lasting, she tells me the advert I saw is a contract and once again she can’t help me. What was even more frustrating is that the supervisor of the store couldn’t even come and speak to me. After spending the whole day trying to sort this out I left with nothing. Today is the December 22nd and still no WiFi and to date we have spent over R1000 on data. Worst experience ever!!!!
