TELKOM WORSE THAN ESKOM!

I am so frustrated I want to pull my hair out. For the last couple of years......yes years now, whenever we experience a thunderstorm in our area, without fail, our adsl goes down and our phone line is either noisy or not working at all. We can’t phone to log a call neither can we use our adsl internet….duh!!! So we buy Vodacom data and use our phones log the fault using the internet cause there is no way we can afford to phone Telkom from our cellphones as they take up to 45 minutes to answer. So we log a fault for each cause logging one fault for both, even though they have that option, means only one gets attended to and then we have to log the other one afterwards. The waiting period for both to be resolved has been anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. When this started a couple of years ago we had to beg and plead to get our bill amended so we were not charged for the period we did not have the service but after all this time this happens automatically now………which just means….to me anyway, that they are aware of the frequency that this happens in our area and they just don’t care.

What is the use of being with a service provider whose service is so bad that when a storm hits you just KNOW that for the next 3 weeks, at least, you are going to be cut off from the rest of the world, yet we get emails to upgrade our line…..WHAT A JOKE!!!! Surely Telkom should have tried to make some effort over these last couple of years to do whatever it is they need to do to solve this issue. Are the people in charge so stupid that they believe that just fixing something that keeps on breaking is going to have any other outcome when the next storm hits. The word ‘insanity’ comes to mind as they keep on doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. They are worse than Eskom cause even though we had load shedding daily, at least it was only for 2 hours at a time.

I am seriously considering changing my home internet to Vodacom. Yes they are much pricier than Telkom but at least I will have continuous service. What’s even sadder is the fact that Telkom will read this and just ignore it as they have enough other business so losing mine would make no difference to anyone’s bonuses.
