Telkom Woodlands Managers POOR and unreliable Service
I app**** for 2 cellphone packages on 19 Feb. The applications were approved, and the Samsung Phone was available immediately and the package activated the sames day - very good service from the agent that helped me. The package for the Iphone 13 however, caused many issues. The iphone was not available, and I was told that the agent will contact me by We the next week for some options.
I waited about 1 month without hearing from Telkom. I went back on the 21st of March, just to be told that there was no application for me on the system. It seems that my application was just deleted with no reason. This meant I had to start the application from scratch. I insisted that they use the same documents that were provided with the application on the 19th of February. I was informed that the iphone 13 not available. I then had a discussion with the manager, Zoliswa Mqayi, wanting to understand why a new approval is required (it was already approved on 19 February), and I insisted that I must be 1st on the list for when an iphone13 becomes available. She promised she will look after my application, and that she is expecting an iphone 13 the following week by Wednesday.
After hearing nothing from Telkom Woodlands for another 2 weeks, I visited them again, with very little assistance or sympathy from Zoliswa about my problem. She then told me that I am not 1st on the list, and I just have to wait for the phone according to the waiting list. She then again promised that they will call me as soon as an iphone 13 is available for me to confirm the transaction. I very specifically asked her to send me a message if she cannot get hold of me telephonically, as I am in meetings most of the day and not available.
I again heard nothing from Telkom again. I went back on 27 April. 1st, they could not find my application on the system - it seems it again was deleted. I was then told that they have an iphone 13 available, do I want it. I had to do the whole application process again. Then they asked me AGAIN for my documents, i.e. bank staement and payslips. I told the agent to tell the manager (Zoliswa) that I have submitted it twice before, it was already approved on the 19th of February, and they must get the documents from their system.
I spend from 14h22 in the shop, it was now 16h10. The agent came back from the managers office and told me there was issues with the system, they cannot retrieve my documents, and after a small argument, I provided them again with the documents. I was then told the system is very slow, if I can do something else, it will take another 15 minutes.
When I returned, the agent then told me, after a visit to the managers office, that there is now a problem with my payslip and bank statement. I then insisted to speak to Zoliswe in person.
Even though my applications was approved twice before, on 19 Feb and 21 March, suddenly the manager now finds a problem with the documentation. It is not that earnins per month is small, it is substantial, but Miss Zoliswa finds a problem.
I have now spend 2,5 hours in the Telkom shop, in this *********** manager tells me, after 2 previous applications have been approved, and poor service from 19 Feb to 27 April with no communication to my specifications, that she cannot approve my application.
After an argument, and me very verbally told her what I think of her service and her competencey, she went back into her office. I then left, with instructions that they need to sort out the mess, and deliver the phone to me. I received a phone call 10 minutes later, and was told that head office approved the application, I can come and pick up my phone.
What is really disappointing, is that Telkom packages and offerings are very good, their agents are really knowledgeable and helpful, but that Telkom appoints people as a manager / supervisor with no insight, no customer service skills, and no competency.
If it was not for the good offerings, I definately would have moved to another service provider. Zoliswa Nqayi however does put a huge black mark against Telkom, I just hope going forward that I do not come across another Zoliswa Nqayi in my journey with Telkom.
