Telkom will mark your case resolved, forget about it, and bill you for their error!

I made use of the contact form which Telkom provides on their website as a means of lodging a query. I needed to have my debit order date changed because my salary date changed, and sent them a message using the form.

I loged the first request in June, case number ********** 1, and received confirmation that my query will be attended to, a while thereafter I received a notification to say the case has been resolved and I was satisfied that the debit order date has been changed.

It came to month end and the debit order bounced because Telkom did not change the date accordingly. My bank charged me penalty fees and my credit record was negatively reflected.

I proceeded once more to contact Telkom and received a case number ********** 0 which was created in July, I received confirmation that this case has been resolved, but yet again the debit order bounced, and I was penalised by my bank again.

I eventually managed to get the date changed on my third attempt, but upon reviewing my invoices realised that Telkom charged me R200 per failed transaction!

I find this absolutely ludicrous, if Telkom actually attended my instruction to change the debit order date then the transaction would not have been unsuccessful.

So I contact Telkom again raising a bill dispute, and receive a case number ********** 1 and was advised that this will take up to 7 days to resolve. On the 1st September I received a notification to say my case has been resolved, but it is obvious that this has not been resolved.

Telkom needs to refund me the R200 charge per failed transaction as this failed transaction is due to their direct inability to provide customer service, Telkom provides a platform to interact with them, but these are not serviced at all, further to this Telkom needs to pay my bank penalty fees as well, as this is directly attributed to their inability to provide customer service.

I would also note that not once did Telkom try to contact me during this whole 3 month blunder!
