Telkom What is Sales without Customer Satisfaction

I have recently (3 weeks ago+/-) taken out a contract with Telkom. The sales representative was fanstatic in promoting the product, and getting to me buy into a contract of 2 years with them. On the 1st of December I had my first incident, which i had logged. My ADSL line dropped. I got a tech to come out yesterday, and his first response was my router is blown. after i had asked for his to please test it by using his router, he still advised that it was blown, even though his one worked. I then asked for him to plug mine in, and he realised that my router was not blown. He laughed it off, and said my problem is resolved. At 7:30 I tried to use my landline, and we discovered that the landline was not working. I then went to the grey box that I had seen him playing around with, and seen that he bypassed one of the gey boxes. (I was not advised of this). I called the support number, and the person advised that my filter is blown! I asked for a tech o come out, as I feel that telkom has the tendancy to say things are blown when they are infact not. I have a surge plug. The support centre then advised that I would have to pay a fee for a tech to come out. This is unacceptable. I am a new customer, and if this is the service that I am going to get for the next 23 months, then i want to cancel this contract. I was also not told that in the event that something does blow, and they can prove this, that i have to pay for it. I have purchased a surge plug for the same reason. The service is shoocking. It is customers that ensures a high return on the business. Surely you should ensure that retain customers, have high service levels and be transparent!

I am sitting with no ADSL or land line at the moment.
