Telkom warranty rip-off!

Telkom provided a Samsung Z3 Flip mobile device, and, even after querying if the fold in the screen would be a problem, was told that there was a 12 month warranty on the screen. The screen has developed a crack along the fold after it initially discoulered to a milky line. Telkom now claim it is out of warranty and have outsourced the device to a 3rd party who have estimated the repair at just over R10k, and, if I don't accept the estimate I have to pay to have the device returned to me!
