Telkom wants money but they can't justify what it is for...

Since the beginning of Lockdown (March 2020) we have been trying to get rid of our Telkom. Can you believe that we are still at it??? I mean we are at the end of August!

At first, we tried to reduce our package and at least keep our line active but after calling and calling and callling with no answer we decided to mail them multiple times. After being sent from pillar to post and not being assisted at all we just had enough and we requested the cancellation - this would be in April now.

So the next few months came and went along with many more emails and calls and follow ups until finally in June we were assisted and they managed to backdate the cancellation to April.

This, we thought, would be the end of it at last. But, you guessed it... It was not.

They had promised us to credit the balance that was due because we were obviously not using the line anymore (been working from home since the beginning of lockdown and still are). This would take about a month or so they said.

Now can you imagine our surprise when we received a notice to say that we still owe them almost R2500.00?

So when I phone them I get treated with attitude and it is very clear that they do not want to help at all. Long story short - they tell us that the amount due is for the period of March - April (one month) but our monthly payments are only R1800.00. So when I question this logic the response I received was to email them...

You can just imagine. It has been almost a week and still no response to that email after I was promised that they will respond to my mail immediately.

And here we are today... Telkom still wants money but they can't justify what for so the obvious thing is that we refuse to pay it.
