Telkom violate the constitution and ***** from the elderly
On the 24/12/2018 I went into the Vincent Park branch to close my Dad's telephone down. I have a full General Power of Attorney to handle his affairs as he is 91 years old. I was told that it had to be done electronically and one had to have access to an e-mail where the OTP would be sent. Being on leave I did not have this so had to wait till I got back to Joburg. How can an elderly person shut down a phone if they do not have electronic access? This is a total violation of the constitution that requires one to respect the aged.On my return I created the profile to shut down a phone and then needed a copy of the bill to pay. Accordingly I phoned and the women said she cannot send this to me despite validating me against the registration. She suggests my dad phone - well he moved to Frail Care hence the need to shut the phone phone so how is he to do it when he has no access to a phone - no they have not cancelled the line so he must use it! He doesn't stay there!!!! She then says no he must go into their offices - how at 91? He has no car and I can't drive him there as I sit 1 000kms away! Again total disregard for an aged person. I logged complaints (Numerous) and eventually I got a copy of the bill. Well no account details reflected to enable me to load on my profile so again I try and get this - to no avail. They have a facility to do an EFT, however, you need to put your profile number in and horror of horror put your PIN in! Do they think I am mad that I will give them full access to my profile that they can go and take all the money they want as they can re-route cell phone calls and get access to OTP! Really Telkom catch a wake up - Banks warn their clients about handing out this information. I have accordingly reported you to my bank. In responses to complaints logged they cannot even call you by your name and I have had three other peoples names on responses, one gave me a refund, it is yet to appear on the account! Telkom - i'm holding you to it as I have it in writing! Then they cannot cancel the line 30 days notice must be given. You can suspend a line immediately why can you not cancel a line? Guess what it is called a money making **** in which you ***** money from the public - well it is time to report these sort of ********* behaviours to the Consumer and Public protector in order that this behaviour can be stopped and Telkom taught to respect the law of the land. It would appear that they have joined the looters of this land and have said if everyone else can do it why can't we. TELKOM START TO ACT IN A MORAL MANNER, RESPECT THE AGED AS LAID DOWN IN OUR CONSTITUTION AND DON'T MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO CANCEL A SERVICE AND THEN STOP TRYING TO RIP THEM OFF A MONTH'S FEES FOR YOUR GREEDY PROFITS SO YOU CAN EARN MILLIONS IN BONUSES. THEY DON'T EARN LARGE AMOUNTS LIKE YOU AND THEY HAVE PAID THEIR DEBT TO SOCIETY BY BUILDING WHAT WE HAD AND HAS SHAMELESSLY BEEN DESTROYED BY ONE OF YOUR MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS.
