Telkom unduly contract cancellation due to ********* business practice
On the 24th of June 2019 I logged a request to cancel my mobile contract on the 31st of July 2019. Case number ***6. On the 26th I received an email, case closed. My service stopped working. I called Telkom ans asked whats going on. The operator confirmed that there is a note made to cancel the service on the 31st of July and explained that I am possibly experiencing issues due to the roaming change from MTN to Vodacom. On the 27th I called again to check progress, again I was told not to worry service will restore after Technical can review the case. On the 3rd of July I went to the Telkom Direct Store Baywest. I was the first person in the store. I drew a ticket and waited, I told them I have a technical issue and want to have my router checked out by them and test my service. The technical guy Gerald, told me he cant test my service as they do not have the ability to do so due to no signal coverage. I insisted he checks the router settings and after making a scene he started my router up and identified the SIM to be faulty. I was told to get another ticket and wait in line again.....
I then got to a gentleman by the name of Conan Jooste, I again had to explain the situation and he asked to see my old SIM. He went to the back office and after his return confirmed that my service was cancelled. Why did Telkom tell me that they are looking into it, and that its a roaming issue were clearly they cancelled my service?
After asking how that happened he said theres nothing he can do but sell me a new contract.
I believe this is ********* business practice as Telkom manipulates customers into different packages. My contract has expired long ago, but they keep soliciting me to upgrade. I believe because I had an older high value contract they are losing money on it cant wait to cancel all the existing similar contracts.
Conan, then gave me my id back and said he was sorry he cant help me. I demanded to speak to a manager.
The manager eventually came out after I waited ten minutes for her, Andiswa. Again I had to explain my story.
At this stage I have been without service for almost a week.
Andiswa showed me that on the Telkom system there is a clear note made to only cancel the service on the 31st of July, I took pictures of that and can supply them. These pictures show dates, service numbers and notes. I will post these and this letter on social media if my case is not resolved today.
I since was told that my case was escalated no ***6, and that it needs to be decided on. How can this be, Telkom is clearly in the wrong....
Yesterday was the 5th and I had to go in again as the Telkom shop telephone number never gets answered. I was told that the manager was out of town the whole week and that my case only came to his attention on that day... Again two days later... Andiswa, who seem to be the only one wanting to assist called me late afternoon to inform me that the SIM she supp**** me with might still not be activated over the weekend as my case is still under review. Why is my case under review? Telkom is in the wrong here not me...
Siting that they cannot give me back my old contract. I dont care what you do, I dont want my old contract, I dont want a new contract, I WANT MY AVERAGE DATA USAGE for this month. one week has already gone...
Today is the 6th of July and its now 8.10 am. I expect my service to be reinstated and the sim activated before 12 am today or I will persue this further blast this transgression over every social media platform available, Facebook, Twitter, Redit Tumblr you name it.
My number is *** if you want to contact me and resolve this matter.
