Telkom tries to sell ADSL lines but cannot deliver

On 10 June 2015 we app**** for an ADSL line at the Woodlands Shopping Centre. The sales person, Joseph, could not give us a reference number because their internet connection was too slow. Maybe that should have been our warning sign. The reference number,***A,was later sent to us by sms. According to Joseph we would be contacted within a week. THREE WEEKS later, still no contact. On 3 July 2015, my wife phoned Telkom in Pretoria. After 30 minutes on the phone and being sent from pillar to post, we still have no idea if we are getting a ADSL line and when this will happen. The new services department transferred our call to the technical department and then on to residential sales and then on to a superintendent, who after 20 minutes still did not take the call. This type of assistance at Telkom goes on and on until one disappears into a hole of virtual reality. Perhaps Telkom should stop advertising on TV until they can handle their backlog.
