Telkom = Total waste of time
I had a telkom land line for about 30 years in cape town. As the cable theft caused havoc i decided to cancel my land line (in this year) and after about 2 months it was cancelled. I took out a mobile month to month contract. I have a small credit balance of about R54.00. For the past two months i have given them all the details and asked them to credit my new contract. I keep receiving the same ****. It has been escalated". It must have been escalated into the ******* bin. Do you think they have done that?? I just do not understand how people are put in positions that they cannot do the job! I had a similar experience just before this one. I took out a 24 month data contract in April this year. After one week I still was not connected. I returned the device and cancelled the contract. Got a reference number. After a week i see a debit in my bank account. I reversed it. Ten days later the same debit again. I reversed it. I went twice to the telkom shop in Kenilworth, cape town. Sent emails to telkom. No joy. Again debit. I reverse it. I got in touch with ICASA. They wrote to telkom. Still no joy. Eventually a a very efficient lady at ICASA managed to sort it out for me. It took two months or more. I tell you the service levels are gone not just down the shoots, but down the manhole into the sewers.
