Telkom - they own fixed line telephony in SA but you cant call them? Go figure!

<p>I have been trying unsuccesfully for 2 weeks to apply for an internet connection and nobody has called me back. When one applies for an internet connection one has to do this online or one has to wait for ages because "they are experiencing high call volumes," this is irrespective of what the time is. After leaving 3 messages online and after responding twice to their ads by sms'ing "Telkom" as instructed in the newspaper adverti*****t I took leave and went to the Telkom shop at the Midlands Mall. You guessed it - they were off-line and had no idea of when they would come back online. Not wanting to sit outside their shop and wait for them to come back online I asked whether I could call later to find out if they were back up again? This is a reasonable request right? You are mistaken! You cant call them to find out - you have to take more time off and come back again hoping that this time, they are online and can help you. Please can somebody at Telkom show some pride in their work and call me back. I dont want a miracle - I just want you to do your job!</p>
