Telkom: The Financial HIV of Our Society - You Just Can't Get Rid of Them!
I used to have faith in the service delivery of our country but time and time again, I am proven wrong. I had an ADSL line with Telkom at home, which I had cancelled on 22 Feb 2019 after the initial 2 year contract period was over (dealing with you guys during this time was no breeze either, let me just tell you!) through following the online cancellation process, as required by you, with a full month's (30 days) notice. On 22 March I received an email confirming that my account has been cancelled, after which I thought "wow, maybe there is still hope for Telkom after all" but boy WAS I ****** WRONG!! It is now 3 months later and I STILL receive invoices from you, even though there is no active Telkom device in my house.
Not only am I being billed for irregular amounts (keep in mind this is AFTER the fact that I have received confirmation that my account has been cancelled via email), I have to keep calling after them and wasting my time and money to reverse or cancel the debit order every month and plead with your staff to have my account cancelled, as I owe you NOTHING. I'm at the point where if I receive one more invoice after the innumerable minutes I have wasted on your call centre to get my information removed from your system, I will be taking legal action as this completely goes against the consumer protection and PoPI acts as well as our rights as consumers. To top it off, I will be sending you an invoice for all the money I waste on doing your work for you!
In fact, the best thing you could do is to either just close your doors or reevaluate where you stand as a business in this country. I'm quite sure that the vast majority of Mzansi is utterly fed up with your lacklustre service delivery and we'd all be better off without you, as things stand. It's very apparent if I look at your ratings and reviews here on HP alone.
