Telkom tell me that my laptop are not insured

I did get a contract my telkom on a D16 laptop. On the 27 of March I was driving with my laptop on the passenger site ground. In the traffic. Then 2 Boys ask me for money I said no and that's when they grabbed my laptop and run. I did inform telkom aswell full in the claim form. When I phoned telkom the told me I am not insured. And I told them how can that be cause I didn't even have it for a month and they told me when I apply the laptop is insured. Now I must pay 2 years 1000 for I thing I don't even have. According to me when you take out any contract there must be insurance and the lady told me that I insurance are included.
