Telkom, Telkom, Telkom. Will you ever improve?
I took an upgrade on my contract in August 2019. I then called the Call Centre late September 2019 to report that my phone is faulty. The speaker doesn't work properly and the headphone socket doesn't work when I try to use the aux cable or my headphones. The agent indicated that I will have to book the phone in for repairs and they will sent a courier to collect it. The courier company collected my phone on 03 October 2019. I then called Telkom to follow up on the status of the phone that had to be repaired and the agent referred me to their repairs department but only provided me an e-mail address. I followed up on 11 Oct 2019 and was told that the repairs will take up to 3-5 working days after I have already waited almost a week. On 16 Oct 2019 I receive an sms from Telkom stating that my devise was deemed out of warranty and that a payment of R390,02 is required for it to be fixed and that a consultant would contact me shortly, to which I am still waiting because I want to know why should I pay for a phone repair that wasn't even my fault and the device was only with me for less than 2 months. Why is the phone not even repaired yet. But they don't delay taking their money from my account. So I am basically paying for a phone that I am not even getting back and to get back I need to pay for it first. Is there a way I can cancel my contract with Telkom completely. They give us all this data that you have to stand on the roof to use anyway. Their service is pathetic.!
