Telkom Telkom Telkom

In January I moved my mobile number to Telkom from Vodacom. I signed up for a cell phone deal, month to month, for R100 per month. The number was not ported. I kept checking with the Rosebank store. They kept saying it was ported but it never worked. I went in to the store regularly to sort it out. Still, the line didn't work. Then lockdown came. I noticed my bill was R199 p/m but mistook this for my landline, so I paid that thinking it was my landline. But then I noticed I was being billed for two new lines instead of one - one data, one cell/airtime. Because it was lockdown I couldn't call the store. Tried calling customer services but waiting time on calls was long, could never get through. By May I got hold of the store by phone. This story is too long to tell. I'm so incredibly frustrated with Telkom. I'm having no luck with Rosebank store. Have been in store, phoned, emailed. By June I decided to cancel my land line (Not related to the Rosebank store but out of frustration I no longer want to support Telkom - I'm paying Telkom so much and there's nobody who is willing to listen to the situation, refund me for the service I was paying for but wasn't receiving (the mobile/data), etc. The manager tried but the person who followed up hasn't got back to me. The only reason I'm hanging on is because I want to keep the phone number and preserve my good credit record. Tried cancelling my land line in June and it's still working and I'm still being billed. Trying again now and the website is not responding to uploading my ID. If I don't pay the bill, I risk a poor credit rating. If I cancel the debit order on the other two lines (the data line should have been cancelled but hasn't been), same risk of my credit rating being affected. Telkom uses inefficient service, delaying cancellations, delaying resolving issues - delay tactics to milk the consumer before they leave. By stretching out the time to resolve the issue, they can continue taking /making money from customers. If they do this with 100 customers per annum that can add up to hundreds of thousands of ZAR. It's ********.
