Telkom telephone pole removal

I've tried numerous occasions to get hold of Telkom with no luck in removing a pole in my yard which been unused for decades now. I want to build on but this pole is putting everything on hold yet I'm struggling getting assistance from Telkom to remove the pole as i was told the pole is their property and i can't just go and remove it. Can anyone please assist me with any info to have this pole removed please.
