Telkom Telemarketing Harassment
Good Day
I have called Telkom customer care to request that they please stop phoning me on a daily basis with marketing calls. I was on a two year mobile internet contract which has since expired and I requested to go on a month to month basis. My plan was changed and I am now on month to month. I had asked the consultant to make a note that I no longer wish to receive marketing calls. This has fallen on deaf ears and I have been bombarded on a daily basis with agents from various telemarketing companies to "upgrade" my contract. Each time I tell them I am not interested and to make a note that I do not want any upgrade, yet this has also fallen on deaf ears.
I again called Telkom Customer Care and the agent assisting says that there is nothing he can do and the people will keep calling me. I asked if there is some way he can remove me from the marketing list and I was simply told NO. How can it be lawful for a client to request that he longer wants receives marketing calls and then blatantly denied his right to op-out of marketing calls.
If this continues I will be opening a case with the SAPS against Telkom for refusing to allow their client (me) to op-out of marketing calls.
