Telkom system no longer work

I have cancelled my telephone and all related services via email on the 16th of January 2017. My telephone has not worked for the last couple of years. Every time I report it they investigate but never fix it.

Today almost exactly a month later, I receive an SMS from telcom telling me that they have received my request for cancellation Ref nr ********** 87A. They also inform me that a 30 day notice period applies.

We phone 10210 and inform them of the problem. According to them I must a) wat 7 to 14 days to see what happens, b) write another email as there is no number for cancellations or c) they cannot help me .

Firstly I would like to see the contract that I signed that stipulates a 30 days notice period; (I have used the service for 20 years)

Secondly if it takes them 30 days to process an email and an email is the only way to communicate with them I would call that shocking service.

I am moving at the end of the month and will not be receiveing bills, will not be using the system and fail to see why I should be penalised for their toatal incompetence.

Surely there is still someone employed by Telcom that can do something about this?

They spend millions on advertising to attract clients. At this rate it is a waste of money . Rather offer you clients proper service and they will flock to you for more.

One peeved off customer.

Incidently, the cancellation form that you give your clienst to fill in states a 20 day waiting period from date of receipt. I sent my form in on the 16th of January and then receive and SMS on the 15th of February stating a 30 day waiting period. Is there any standard or do you just make it up as you go along?
