Telkom suspentions poor administration

On Thursday I received an sms with a message that my credit limit had been exceeded and that my service has been suspended. The service however wasn't suspended yet. The sms however did not say from where it comes. I also did not recognize the number in the body of the sms, i.e. it wasn't my phone or account number. So I had to guess and called Telkom. The consulatant tld me that I had to pay R215.05 and email him the proof of payment to ensure that my service will not be suspended. I did it immediately and sent the email. The next morning my service was suspended (Friday). So I called Telkom again and was told that the payment did not reflect on their side.

Now on one of the recorded messages it states that one "can use payment gateway on the Telkom website for real time connection". So I did that and paid my account in full. I was told that the connection should not take long; by most at the end of the day. This does not correspond with the recorded message. So on the Friday morning I called again. The R215.05 I paid by EFT did show at Telkom, but my service was still suspended. I was told that the R215.05 wasn't enough to connect my service (I recall speaking to another consultant at one time and was told that I must pay R59 odd for connection - the other one told me R215.05). On Saturday morning a consultant asked me to email the proof of payment of the full account payment, which I did. She mentioned she will escalate it to the connections department. It's Monday now and still no connection.

I did everything I was told to do and my account is still suspended. I suppose Telkom expects me to pay the R260 connection fee as well. I'm sure they will suspend my account if I don't pay the R260 connection fee even if the fault was on their side.

At one stage I asked a consultant why Telkom does not send an sms before the time so I can do something about it. He said that this is usually done. I recall that I did in fact receive an sms before but also not from who it is. It's also being sent from a cellphone number so my geuss was that it was someone who had the wrong number on record.

TELKOM YOU ARE COSTING ME MONEY AS I HAD TO USE MY CELLPHONE FOR INTERNET CONNECTION AND PHONE CALLS. Are you going to refund me????
