I have moved house on 1 May and logged a request to transfer my telephone line on 4 June 2018 (Ref ********** 86), and after nothing happened for several weeks followed up with webmail communication (Ref ********** 44) on 2 July. After a few weeks of silence, I sent a message on 23 July via the Facebook Special Forces, and though a representative asked me the line number in question, never came back to me. During August I contacted Call Center again who referred me to a dedicated call center who deals with residential estates (gated communities) to identify the address and log the request to relocate. No response from Telkom or service provider to move line.
Since Telkom happily kept billing me in spite of not living at the address for several months with no line activity, I decided to terminate the landline and on 16 August called Billing Enquiries and spoke to Zandile Gcusa who sent me a Cancellation Form and email address to submit ********** The email kept on bouncing back for unknown reasons. I again reached out to Billing (Zandile) who requested I send the cancellation form to her. Since then I have followed up numerous times via email to Zandile without her responding.
I then tried to do the cancellation through portal, but my line was not linked to account, and after many hours trying to sort this, eventually gave up. In the meantime my service got suspended as I refused to pay the account given the duration of time without service.
Again called the Call Center on 15 October after which I am informed that I can only cancel through portal or cancellations email.... I insisted on speaking with a Supervisor but after 15 minutes of holding I disconnected call.
I have used all reasonable attempts to try and resolve this matter. I have also been extremely patient in spite of all the service failures. It seems like there is really no-one at Telkom bothered to do their job and the widespread nature of this must be a reflection on their Leadership. I wonder how they manage to stay in business so long....
