Telkom Store Staff offer Preferential Service For Friends

I visited a Telkom store in Bay West Port Elizabeth today 12.09.2021 only to experience a consultant give preferential treatment to someone they evidently knew. I arrive with my family and we stood in the queue, someone at the door registered my name and took my temperature, I was 6th upon arrival and waited for a fair amount of time outside the store due to Covid-19 protocols. As I was next in line to enter the store a customer arrived behind me and was on the phone, soon another consultant came out to meet him, they had small talk which was clearly from a fami**** vantage point, The consultant proceeded to ask me what I came to do, I informed her I came for an upgrade, She then turn around and informed me that the other 3 consultants will help me when they are done and proceeded to walk in with the guy that had just arrived. When I questioned the guy who had been directing the queue and coordinating the customers on the line, he seemed puzzled by the occurrence himself. He then proceeded to tell me that the other consultant is on lunch and is helping the customer from her own time and also said the guy was at the store in the morning. He was let in without registering, sanitising or even taking temperature. The 2 Telkom staff i experienced at the store today are really pathetic and should not be working in customer service as their give customers preferential service based on fami****ity. I have since today cancelled my contract with Telkom and will be porting my mobile numbers to another service provider after a long time with the carrier.
