Telkom still invoicing over a year after cable-theft and cancellations process borders on ********* behaviour.

In May 2022 we had two lines affected by cable theft (I was involved in the capture of one of the attempted *******). Despite this and their policy of not reinstating copper cable lines, Telkom repeatedly refused to acknowledge that they had cancelled the service and continued to bill us. If the invoices are not paid, Telkom will automatically blacklist. Each of the numerous calls resulted in the situation having to be described from scratch with a new agent and departments would refuse to accept ownership or responsibility - finance would say it was a technical matter and vice versa. After many calls and emails with no escalation, fast forward to April this year when we cancel everything we have with Telkom, requesting a reconciliation of the accounts back to May 2022 and they continue to ignore this and invoice into June. You cannot get hold of anybody competent either by phone or by email and either the systems are offline or the supervisor is not available and you cannot escalate a matter. Predictably, no contact email addresses or numbers for escalation or executives are available either and seemingly the moment the details are on the internet, they are discontinued. Given the shambolic state of SOE's and warning bells ringing for Telkom regarding loss of business, it seems evident that they are doing everything in their power to hold on to every last Rand they can for as long as possible by making cancellations or queries a nightmare to resolve over a grossly extended period of time.
