Telkom *****s money from their customers. BEWARE!!!!

If I could I would not give them any star at all. I enquired about an amount that they said I owed on my contract. The amount was higher than any amount which I had ever paid when I was still paying for the device so naturally I queried the amount. I called the call centre twice on the 16th of January 2021 speaking to a Moera Kganyago (pitiful service agent) and then to a Nokuthula, and I did not get any joy from the calls Moera also hung up on me before we even reached a conclusion. Not before she said that the charges were related to out of bundle usage on the number in question however I found that odd as when I app**** for the contract I request for a spend limit which clearly was not done by Telkom's agent. I informed the agent that it was not possible that data was being used on the phone as when data is finished the the Internet does not work on the phone and we purchase data. The agent was adamant that its the limit spend to which I responded again that I had a limit spend on the account and that was impossible. I then requested that all contracts are cancelled there and then and also trequested to speak to the team leader or manager. I was informed that the manager would call me back however that did not happen. I then concluded a survey via email stating my dissatisfaction, and again I was told I would receive a call from the team however that call never took place. I then again on my own accord after receiving a second statement with an inflated amount call the call centre on the 4th of February speaking to a Keitumetse this time around however the call got cut after a few minutes of us engaging and I has to call again. This time I spoke to a lady by the name of Zinhle. She confirmed that the contract had not been cancelled as I had requested on the 16th of Jan and also confirmed that a case had been opened with regards to my query, case no ***7. I was told a manager or team leader would call me back and none of that happened. All I received was an SMS stating that the case had been resolved which left me confused as I did not speak to anyone from Telkom (misrepresentation of facts and lying from Telkom). Today I then receive an SMS stating that the amount has been sent to debt collection which I wonder how when the case and a dispute is still ongoing between myself and Telkom? Further to this I will be writing to ICASA and the Consumer Goods and Service Ombud to highlight this issue as I wonder just how many people have been ****med by Telkom.

Telkom is a *****ed company and I would actually and why you should never enter into any contract with them or even look at their direction. I will not expand on the dispute I have with them over a billing issue with my account as I have logged that here on Hello Peter a few days ago and other than an sms confirming that they are attending to the issue. No one has called me to sort this out. They have since gone a step further to block my number as I am unable to use data on my phone nor load airtime on the phone number which I bought my mom. I have just been stranded at the airport looking to request an Uber but I couldn't as although I do have data, Telkom can pick and choose when they want to "allow" me to use data as I can now. Please bear in mind that the contract and devices have been fully paid and yet they are looking to charge me an exorbitant amount on a number that should've had a spend limit (an error on their side and nor mine by the way) Telkom has taken liberty to suspend my numbers despite the fact that the contract is fully paid up and I have never ever missed a payment until this dispute surfaced. Telkom is a *****, I can only wonder how many people they use similar tactics with as well and whether they have a case to answer for as this is not right. Why must I pay for Telkom's mistake.
