TELKOM software glitch when allocating additional purchased data
I have recently found a flaw in the purchasing of top-up internet for TELKOM. I have a basic prepaid package of 10GB normal time and 10GB night surfer (12am to 7am). I had several visitors over the recent holiday period and needed to ensure that we had enough internet for that period. The first drawback was that I could NOT purchase additional internet on-line but had to visit a customer service centre. It was explained to me that the particular package I had meant I had limited top-up options. The one I elected was an additional 3GB standard time and 3GB night surfer both of which had a three week cutoff period (in other words an expiry date of 3weeks hence). What was not made clear is that when my normal monthly allocation kicked in on 1 January 2024 the system , instead of finishing the additional purchased internet (which it had started to use!) , it would deplete my standard allocation for February FIRST!! which basically nullified my extra purchase of R50 (which then expired on 12th January 2024. Very sad & what a waste of money. I am hoping the TELKOM programmers read this and make the necessary software changes.
