Telkom / Showmax cancellation nightmare

I am at my wits' end, and so very frustrated. Last year sometime (I can't even remember when), I tried to cancel my Showmax account. I went onto Showmax's website, but there it said I have to cancel it through Telkom. I called Telkom and the person who helped me said it had been cancelled. I kept getting billed, and I'd reverse the debit orders. Now the account is being handed over for collection, which means my credit score will now be affected negatively. The biggest problem is I never received any communication that it was indeed cancelled. I just had the phone call. I need this resolved ASAP.
