Telkom Shelly Beach: Turning a frown upside down!

We opened a branch for our business on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast which unfortunately does not have fibre in sight. Having tested a number of networks we opted to go with Telkom LTE and I headed to the Shelly Beach branch beginning of July to take out a data contract. We were helped by a chap called Bruce who served us with upmost respect and friendly service. Unfortunately the data contract we took out (FreeMe Family Unlimited) has a serious flaw and that is that it's Fair Usage Policy is heavily restricted (100GB FUP after that you're capped at 128kbps) which is no where near suffice for our business needs. Unfortunately this FUP went lost in translation and we ended up signing a 24 month contract without knowing about this particular FUP. To add insult to injury, we were only capped in August so never had time to be throttled at the FUP during our cool-off period.

Knowing that we may end up being in a 24 month contract at a product close to R1700 per month which would not offer my business the requirements we need, I returned to Bruce who spent most of a Saturday morning assisting us in lodging a case to help us dispute the contract and he (along with Maxine in the contracts department) was able to cancel the 24 month contract and signed us up for 2 separate data contracts (also unlimited plans but with a much better FUP) which costs about the same amount but is far better for our business needs.

I know Telkom takes a lot of slack but I want to personally thank Telkom for helping us with this particular case, for their willingness to release us from a contract and service that did not meet our needs but more importantly for the amazing service we got from Bruce and Lindane at the Shelly Beach Telkom branch along with Maxine who did not give us any trouble in helping us with this case! I am sure was it any other provider we would have had to take the punch to the cheek but Telkom really took the cup this time around!
