Telkom services down - Still invoicing and handing over to Debt Collectors
Hi On 6 April 2018 my Telkom Land line went completely dead with no signal. This of course also then mean that I did not have any DSL services from Telkom either. On the 7th of April 2018 I logged a call with Telkom (Fault: 37CTK070418) reporting the land line and DSL services down. On the 9th of April I received an SMS with a progress update saying my Fault is in hand with a technical repair division On the 10th of April another SMS to say they will attend my Fault shortly On the13th of April another SMS to let me know that they are investigating On the 16th of April another SMS to say they have my problem in hand "APPARENTLY" and I should refer to their app On the 19th of April they let me know the still aware of my problem. "After this they were out of contact and seemed to forget that I have a problem. on the 11th of May I phoned and they provided me with an Escalation number " ********** " and then no more information. I then cancelled my service with them by the 19th of May as nothing gets done and I had no service on the Landline or the DSL. They informed me that they still need to cancel on a 30 day notice. "Remember that in this period of cancellation my service was not working at all with no attempt to restore this service" on the 4th of June I received a SMS that my service is restored, Now can you believe this company TELKOM !! this after 2 months and after cancellation. The best of all is that the service was not restored at all with no body at my house and also no service on the line or DSL. I of course phoned Telkom and confirmed to them on my reference numbered that no service was restored. They then also did not attempt to restore the service for the rest of the cancellation period. I then, now nearly a year later get a SMS from NuDebt to tell me I have been handed over by Telkom owing them R 1295.98 and will have negative credit rating and should pay the money over. I phoned NuDebt and what do the woman tell me you have to pay for the cancellation period, it does not matter that the lines were down for a total of 3 Months and never restored in the period of cancellation, "Imagine my response thrown g a tantrum of note". Telkom tell you they cannot assist as you need to deal with NuDebt and NuDebt cannot assist as they were instructed to collect and of course will not listen as they want their share.
I have no Idea how to solve this and with Telkom being the best Customer focussed company help is far away as per my review above.
Assistance will be great. Regards Stefan Pretorius Telkom Account Number: ********** 60001
