Telkom service? Think again.

Subject: ********** 088, ********** 147, ********** 88

These numbers, including my internet line have been out of order since before the end of January. This is a business account, I am an attorney and have suffered a substantial loss of business and incurred tremendous inconvenience, loss of professional time and expenses to try to put alternative means of communication in place.

They have been aware of the outage, which is a bulk fault due to cable theft. I have also reported the fault several times online and at the Eastgate Telkom branch and I am still waiting for this to be sorted out. I am pasting the following references. ********** 147 and the Reference number is: 712CRZ310118 ; ********** 698 and the Reference number is: 258CRK250118 ; ********** 088 Date reported: 2018-01-28 12:02 Reference number: 58138 (bulk fault) I have subsequently been told that Telkom has no intention of replacing the cables or lines. I received an SMS today to say my lines had been suspended. How can Telkom carry on billing for lines they know are down and suspend a service that is non-existent? I also logged a billing dispute online on all these numbers on about 13th February 2018. When I phoned this morning I was told there is no record of this, so their online dispute service is obviously not working.

I have been trying to divert calls to our VOX line, but have been told I cannot do this as the line needs to be working first. When I went in to the branch at Eastgate to try to organise an alternative solution I was told that it would take six to eight weeks to have a fixed line lookalike installed and that a customer from this area had been waiting since mid December for installation.

My only option to stay in business seems to be to port my Telkom number to another service provider, but cannot find out if this is possible once my line has been suspended.

The only reason I have not done so is that I was told last week that a technician would come in to install a FLLA on ********** 147. He arrived this morning and told me he could not do this as no facility had been put in place for him to do this and also the owner would be required to go in to a Telkom shop to collect the phone. In terms of our contract with Telkom they are supposed to be guaranteeing me a 48 hour repair service.

This is not disgraceful service. This is no service at all and constitutes a breach of contract. I was even given the wrong information on how to cancel my Telkom business services and was given a residential termination form to complete by the branch.

This is more or less the same email I sent to them at the email address I was given on a recorded response (If your line is suspended you cannot even get to a person to dispute this)

Needless to say the email was returned by the mail server as it does not exist.

Will they action a request to terminate all my services? With an average 1.5 star rating I am not betting on it. I am still trying to get them to refund the money debited three years ago (which was disputed virtually every month for a year) for a bold directory entry I did not authorise.

If you have any other option do not use Telkom if at all possible.
