Telkom seem to want to lose customers

In the first week of November a power surge destroyed my modem. I was informed by Telkom they had no stock so I cancelled my account. I went in literally a day later and a different employee told me they did have stock - just not the same type of router as I had. I asked them then to reconnect my line and asked twice how much it would cost and was told twice it would cost nothing as I was still considered and existing customer. I waited until the 7th of December and no technician came. On returning to Telkom I was informed that I would have to pay a R700 deposit to reconnect my line. I was told I had a credit rating of zero. I have been a customer of Telkom for over 20 years and never missed a single payment - hell will freeze over before I pay this useless company R700. I cannot understand why Telkom want to **** me off so much that for R700 they lose a customer who pays over R600 every month. Biggest idiots alive. It will be interesting to see if the *********** fools respond to this complaint seeing they never contacted me about the R700 re-connection fee. I am waiting for a router form Cell C now. Telkom can shove it up their backside.
