Telkom says: Payback The Money That You Didn't Owe From the First Place

Hi

Today is yet another rainy day in Durban, but its a hailstorm in my life right now thanks to Telkom.

I am a victim of identity theft, and i do not wish for this to anyone else. It all started in August 31st, 2016. Telkom deducted R 3910 from my account, i was shocked as i have never associated myself with any Telkom products, but as i was still shocked, they quickly reimbursed me. As normal, i thought it was a transaction error which was later fixed, BUT NOO!! This was just a start to my problems. Soon after taking my R3.9k they attempted to take more, but the debit order bounced as i had no funds. They later tried to deduct more monies on the 15th September and again, the debit order bounced, during these two occasion i lost R230 due to bank charges for bounced debit order. me, being naive, i thought they would sort this out by now, but no, they contiinued to take R2000 on the 23rd Sep and R4024 on the 26th September, those debits sent me to a deep depression and a negetive bank balance, something that i never had before. i went to the bank and they reversed the amounts then straight to the Telkom offices in Musgrave center and explained everything, this was still on the 26th Sep. They said i should go to the police station and get an Affidavit stating that im not the owner of the account. To my surprised i found out that:

1. The account has 3 contracts on my name, all which were approved in August.

2. apparently i took a Iphone 6s, Samsung S7 and another phone which i forgot.

3. The contract has no supporting documents (No ID, Bank Statement)

4. The contact details are not even mine

5. The physical address doesnt match where i live.

So i was furious as i didnt understand how can they approved 3 expensive contracts under my name when i dont even earn alot. I asked them to cancel this as i do not know this person nor have i lost my ID ever since it was issued to me. They gave me a case number and said they will contact me in a week time. weeks passed, dololo (Zulu term used for "Nothing"), i then called the customer service, explained myself and only to find that this issue has still not been sorted. 15th October they attemted to debit yet again, bounced and another Bank charge of R115. posted on their facebook page just to gain attention, they rep**** telling me they are on it. Today, i woke up to a notification stating that telkom deducted R2 500 from my newly earned salary :((((( WWWWWWHHHHHYYYYYYYYY!!! What have i possibly done to telkom? Do you understand the depression that i suffer from knowing that tomorrow you will probably deduct more out of me. You have tarnished my name with the credit bureau. ive never defaulted on my payments before. I just want my financial freedom again.
