Telkom says i owe them for 4 months of their month to month data sim while they stopped the service

I went to telkom branch at protea glen mall. They offered me a month to month sim card uncapped data for R450. The agent specifically told me that this is a month to month plan. I even made an example about Dstv and Rain month to month plan, that if i dont pay they will stop the service and continue when i have money. On the month where i did not pay, telkom accumulated a fee of R450, yet the stopped my service. Today i checked and i owe about R1800, and the internet service is still on. How is this possible as i was told that this is month to month.

Suppose that this happens just because it is logged in their system that u must always be debited on a certain day of the months, but wahy is this fee accumulating because i am not using their month to month service and it is off. How can i be owing telkom a month to month service for the months where i am not paying. I dont remember owing rain for 2 months or more. I dont remember owing Dstv for 2 months or more.
