Telkom SA is nonsense

so i got a contract phone from telkom mobile in August 2016. At round about the same i switched banks. when i switched banks my private banker assured me that all my debit orders would be transferred too and needed to not worry. fast forward to december 2016, i decided to walk into to use my telkom contract sim which i had never used since inception of the contract due to very few minutes and excessive call rates beyond that. to my surprise i found that telkom had not been deducting their monthly instalment as my banker had not done as promised and moved all my debit orders accordingly. telkom had decided to cancel/write off my contract. as soon as i found this out (being december 2016) i called the telkom contact center time and time again and none of the call center agents could assist. all they could tell me is to log a case which was to be responded to within 2 weeks. A couple of "2 week" periods came and went with no word from telkom and with me constantly calling their useless call center came for them to tell me to just wait and that "they", the gods at telkom which cannot be contacted directly will call me. fast foward to this week, 22 February 2016. i reveive a text from telkom which informs me that my case had been resolved and that i had a bill of R9600 which needed to be repaid with an initial instalment of 40% in 7 days and the remaining 60% in 2 equal instalement in march and april. i tried by all means to arrange to repay the outstanding balance and for my services to continue but my cries have fallen on deaf ears, hence i logged the initial case and i wanted to explain this to the relevant people at telkom which one cannot contact directly so i wasted my time and airtime calling and explaining my situation to the call agents time and time again. now im being threatened with collectors debiting their money for themselves. what kind of customer service is this? telkom techinical team is really ****. THEY JUST DO AS THEY PLEASE AND TARNISH ONES CREDIT RECORD AS AND WHEN THEY FEEL. my question is what exaclty is your priority TELKOM? is it to recover your monies outstanding and for your relationship with clients to continue or is it to ruin your clients lives and **** up their credit records over a clear misunderstanding which could have been easily cleared rectified in a conversation between logical adults and by a techinitian hiding behind a computer screen.

in conclusion, TELKOM is ****. if you have an option, stay as far away from them as possible. They are very excited when signing you up with their cheap deals etc but when it comes to post sales service, where it really matters, they will ***** you over and hide behind their ability to ruin your credit record.

Thats their first point of call, not reasoning with you.

with telkom you are guilty until proven innocent which you cant really prove since they resolve cases without contacting you, therefore you are guilty either way

Once again, a case has been logged and a reference number received. Exactly how i will be using this reference number i do not know since the relevant people, being the Gods in the Accounts department, are not contactable directly.

This is starting to feel like a bad case of dejavu as i again tell my story to another call centre agent and give this reference number the response to which is "its showing as logged on my side (being obvious since i have a ref number) and im sure they will get back to you, give them a bit more time", which is unfortunate because as i wait the unilateral payment arrangement i am quirying has past due date and next thing il find that telkom has further thrown my credit rating into the ditch.....

so much for "we apologize for the inconvinience caused".....
