Telkom's Useless Credit Control

I have a contract with Telkom for LTE Wifi and 2 cellphone contracts. According to Telkom the contract states that I MUST have a debit order in place for payment. I have chosen the option of LAST DAY OF THE MONTH. Telkom has more than once debited my account earlier than the last day of the month, even as early as the 24th. As I get paid on the last day of the month this has ended up more than once in returns which costs me a fortune in bank charges.

The latest saga started on the 1st of September. I was paid late and the debit order was returned on the 1st. On the 2nd I made an EFT transfer to Telkom. On the 15th Telkom debited my account with R2000 which was returned. Again on the 23rd they debited my account with R2000 without my conscent and was returned. These two debits ended up to cost me R300 in bank charges.

I called Telkom and they just advised that if a debit order is returned they send the details to a collections company, that collects the money. If the account is paid like I did, Telkom does not update the collections company with the information. Seems like to much trouble.....

At the end of September my account was not debited. Then on the 15th of October my account was debited again with R2500. Today on the 18th my account was suspended.
I called customer service and they said they are sorry but the account can only be re-instated once the payment reflects on their account. According to the person I spoke to it could take up to 14 working days.

Thus now my business is suffering as my internet connection is interrupted. Both my kids are without communication and Telkom just says there is nothing they can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
