Telkom's Shocking Service

I set up a Telkom Fixed Line account for wifi at the beginning of 2015 when I lived in KZN which I cancelled on 1 December 2015 as I was moving to JHB. So there was a whole month of notice. Telkom responded to the cancellation and confirmed that it would be cancelled.

I then received a bill from Telkom every single month in 2016 when I was not even staying at the same address or using Telkoms service. I tried to cancel it again at least 10 times but to no avail. I was then notified that if I did not settle the account of R2000 I would be handed over to debt collectors.

The first debt collectors threatened me to which I responded with my proof of cancellation. The account was then settled by Telkom although they said I still owe R315.00, which does not make any sense as I had cancelled the services and paid my way in full.

I was then handed over to a second debt collector, Nu Debt which stated final demands for the money. I have no idea why I am still oweing money to this useless business who is impossible to get hold of. This has been a tiresome and frustrating experience and I would encourage people to NOT get involved with Telkom at all costs.
