Telkom's Shocking Service
We are a professional firm in Port Elizabeth. We rely heavily on the internet and emails. We have a 4Mbps ADSL line with Telkom. We have had major problems since last Monday, 25 January 2016 with our ADSL line. It is now 10 days and the problem has still not been resolved. This has cost us a huge amount of unproductive and wasted time which we cannot bill our clients. We've had to pat staff overtime to meet our deadlines. Our Internet line is extremely slow and our emails stay in the Outbox. After a few hours it may or may not get Sent. Sometimes the receiver gets more than one email of the same thing. I tested my Internet speed and found that I'm getting an Upload speed of ,2 Mbps and a Download speed of ,4 Mbps. That's roughly between 5% and 10% of what I'm paying for.

We have been reporting it since last Monday and in spite of promises to send a technician, nobody has still come around. I was told that if a technician comes out and it's not a Telkom fault, I will be charged R1,096 by Telkom. I told them that if it was a Telkom fault, will they he prepared to reimburse me for lost productivity and overtime? I'm frustrated and want to cancel my Telkom ADSL contract. Any advice?
