Telkom's Ignorance

I had a VAS (Value Added Service) on my contract whereby I could get unlimited Telkom mobile to Telkom Mobile minutes for R49.00 a month.

Telkom introduced the FreeMe bundles which included sufficient Telkom Mobile minutes. Therefore, I cancelled the VAS on 31 August 2016.

On 8 September 2016 R49.00 was deducted from my account for the same VAS which I cancelled. I contacted Telkom to enquire and they notified me that the necessary adjustments to my account was made and I have been credited. When I checked my profile, no adjustments had been made.

I contacted Telkom once again and they informed me that billing is one month in arrears. However, my last payment for the VAS is 30 September 2016 and it has been added to my ubbilled balance for 31 October 2016.

The next consultant informed me that the VAS would not be deducted from my account unless I added it again by myself.

This is clearly a Telkom error and they refuse to accept responsibility for their mistake. If I wanted the VAS I would have added it on the 1st of the month when the previous one expired. I did not add it and as a loyal Telkom customer I feel the manner in which my query and complaint has been handled is very disappointing.

Still no solution from Telkom. They have once again deducted money for the month of October. They say they cannot deactivate the VAS. Why would you offer a service which cannot be cancelled.

Over a month of appeals to Telkom and no solution from 12 September 2016. Very poor customer service.
