Telkom's fault, I pay?

I run my business from home. It is vital that my internet is working between the hours of 9-5. I work digitally and so, deliver content to business clients via uploading, emailing etc...

This is not the first time, but on the start of a usual working day, the internet becomes intermittent and slow, I call in and they "reset the port". This works 2 out of 5 times, the other 3 times would just be me losing valuable time, waiting for the issue to be resolved. Yesterday has been the worst case by far. Called at about 10,11....they confirmed a network issue on their side, and technician was apparently dispatched at around 12. I called twice afterward and I got the same message " the technician was dispatched, we will escalate the matter." They then ask me for my cell number in each call. I only received a call 5 mins ago, to say the technician is coming. The internet is still down today. Now I have to go to the Telkom store (because the numbers on the internet hardly work), to get an integrated sim card, which is for free (but isnt the sim usually between 1c and R1), but I have to pay for a ****le, in order to get back to working on the internet at home. The logic seems to be failing me, why do I have to take money out of my pocket, because the service whom I'm already paying, has failed me? Why must I pay for the device to get my internet back, which I had no part in "breaking"?

What upsets me more, is that the manager at N1 city, told me boldy, we will not give you the ****le free, but instead she said she will "chase" and escalate the matter. I received no word from her since yesterday approx. lunchtime. She did however say that she would "see what we can do" if the internet was to be "broken" for weeks. Weeks!? What does she think of my need for the internet? In my business, one day, one failed upload is a disappointed client! I do not stand for that, unlike some other companies out there. From my experience, it would seem, based on even the Google reviews of Telkom, that my policy of keeping the client happy, and delivering professionally in my personal business doesnt seem to be the same for the employees at Telkom. For all this inconvenience I believe that I shouldn't be expected to pay a cent, to get the internet working, which I'm already paying quite an amount for at the end of each month, for about +- 5years....

Reviewer Update

I'm not sure why, but the site is censoring the word "****le" in my review.
